Tomato Cages & Planting Herbs

5:00 AM

This weekend Papa spent some time putting in our tomato cages:

Now we've got two nice rows of tomato plants.  The ones on the left are all roma tomato plants, minus one plant which are grape tomatoes.

And then on the right we've got marmandes, german johnson, and a few cherokee tomato plants.

These babies have already got some fruit on 'em!

The romas on the other hand were just recently planted.

And then we've got fresh herbs planted between each of the larger tomato plants.  No rhyme or
reason, just chose to plant them there.

Here we have our sweet basil:

Second sweet basil plant

Greek columnar basil

Stevia

Pineapple sage

Parsley

Our thyme

Greek oregano

Our dill

Cilantro

and culantro

Rich Compost, Rich Soil

3:44 PM

Today, we got another batch of compost for the garden.  This batch seems to be rich in soil minerals, rocks, wood....and, well..worms:)  Those are all things (minus some of the rocks, and large pieces of wood) that are great fertilizer for our veggies to grow in.  We're taking one row & one section at a time and in just a few months, all of this hard work is sure to pay off.

Have a Happy Memorial Day Everyone!

Glorious Carrots!

10:30 PM

Here's a picture of our fresh picked orange and purple carrots.  These are not baby carrots but there are a bit small, but that's only because we picked them early.  I guess that you could say that we just had to peak.  Aren't they beauties?

Here's our corn...

 Beautiful corn.

There's a new (corn) sproutlet that's starting to come
through..

And here's our brocolli.  Papa picked up 24 for of these brocolli plants and put
them in just a couple of weeks ago (sorry, don't have a picture of that :(
Take my word for it, they've come a long way, thus far.
